Heat Pump

Province - Provincial Input Session on Home Heating

January 23, 20241 min read

The province is holding a public input session - This is your chance to have your voice heard. Tell the province what you think

"EMLI  is proposing that as of Jan 1, 2030, point-of-sale standards would  require all new space and water heating equipment sold and installed in  BC to be high-efficiency, low carbon equipment such as heat pumps,  electric resistance, and dual fuel systems. "

As  we've been telling you the province is planning on implementing a 100%  efficiency requirement for all space and water heating appliances. This  is another way to ban gas from homes - As we read the proposed policy,  it will be illegal to sell a NEW  water or space heating appliance unless it is 100% efficient. If you  have a furnace that runs on gas you will be forced to install a heat pump, an expensive gas/heat pump hybrid or find a used gas furnace if your current furnace breaks.

This is your chance to tell the province what you think

There are 2 Sessions:
- Jan 25, 2 - 3:30pm
- Feb 6, 10:30am - 12pm
