KEEP GOVERNMENT LOCAL
The form of government closest to the people is the most important. The further away decisions are from the voters, the less impact they should have on our lives. KCSC works to re-balance the scales in favour of local citizen lead governance. KCSC works to expose and counter harmful policy originating from special interests and distant bureaucracies while promoting common sense alternatives lead by local needs.
COMMUNITY SAFETY
Crime in the Kamloops area continue to get worse year over year. This is a complicated issue with many drivers such as addiction, housing, economy, government policy and others. KCSC supports evidence based approaches to reduce crime, empower local governments and law enforcement, and reduce bureaucracy preventing common sense approaches to community safety.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Many important decisions in regional and municipal politics happen behind closed doors. It's time for residents to have a seat at the table. KCSC will always advocate for transparency and accountability while putting the association members first.
INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS
As we are faced with crisis and emergencies, governments are reacting and changing legislation faster than ever. KCSC is the voice of reason and your local watchdog keeping government overreach in check. Local government often makes decisions that can curtail your individual rights as a property owner, citizen or business owner. KCSC will
proactively fight to ensure the decision makers stay in their lane.
COMMON SENSE CLIMATE POLICY
The current policy direction is taking us to towards unattainable housing, energy poverty, reduced farming, and higher prices. The sacrifices needed to meet to goals adopted by local government are out of touch with reality and must be reigned in. KCSC advocates for world class utilities and services from local government, clean renewable energy, clean air, clean water without cutting services or reliability in the name of climate action.
TECHNOLOGY
Technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace. Many do not fully grasp the extent of what is currently achievable. KCSC is committed to promoting transparent and informative dialogues, regarding the technologies already in use and those that are being proposed. We will actively seek sensible regulations and safeguards to prevent the potential misuse of dual-use technologies, while ensuring the protection of your privacy.
